Wow. Dr. Clark has become his own standard. If Luther is pushed aside as not “Protestant” no wonder the FV suffers at his hands.

First, the Hittites are the paradigmatic people of the universe. Move over Israel! Now, the only Protestants are Dutch and Reformed, oh, and their new Baptist converts. Notice how the Protestant view is only fleshed out with quotes from Heidelberg and Dordt (how very Clarkian). The only thing you you need Mark, in order to make this post complete, is to have Clark come and visit your blog to leave you one those fantastically convincing comments that includes a cut and paste job from the Heidelberg Catechism and a reference to go buy and read a chapter in some book he’s trying to sell. How about it Scott? We know you’re out there lurking tonight!

I took Clark’s organization to indicate a primary contrast between “Roman” and “Protestant” and then “Lutheran” and “Baptist” representing two ends of the spectrum under “Protestant.”

Since it’s the first of a series, I expect the next installment would continue with “Protestant,” but focusing on “Reformed” as representing the center of Protestant thought.

Perhaps that’s not entirely clear from how he organizes things, but that’s the best read I can put on it.
