Think beyond the late plutocracy, Pastor

#1 – “The Church Is Not A Business But Rather A Hospital For Sinners.”

Uh…OK, the problem with this argument is…a hospital IS a business…and if it is not ran properly then it will have to close its doors, thus losing its effectiveness in helping those it has been called to reach.

Yeah. How’s that been working out for… anyone?

Hospitals are now businesses and are increasingly (not universally or uniformly but increasingly) dangerous places to be for your health and finances. They didn’t start that way. They started as religious ministries. Here in St. Louis, I have to struggle to think of a hospital that doesn’t have a religious name. The secular and business world has inherited a gift of the Kingdom and is unable to perpetuate it.

Not a great analogy to prove that the church is a business.

I usually try to refrain from sounding this snooty, but personally I wouldn’t spend time responding to/correcting an article that badly written, from both grammatical and logical standpoints. What is this “Christian Post” place that posts “guest columns” that are both juvenile and not edited for grammar?

And the entire second “argument/response” is a huge fallacy. I’m not too good at labeling fallacies, but I think that one is affirming the consequent.
