Idle thought:

The Reformation was a fertile period of intense bible study and bible application.  This was seen in an immense number of new creeds and confessions.  It lasted about a century or so and then ended.  Suddenly, the children of confession- and catechism-writers live in a way that condemns them.  Truly we decorate the tombs of the prophets even while we live as those who persecuted them.
