40

Somehow it seemed appropriate that my last day of 39 was the first day of Advent.

(I also had a real hard time fighting off sleep all day and ended up going to bed before ten.  Also appropriate, I suppose.)

Happy birthday Mark. 40 ain’t so bad. After 50, I like to say that every day vertical is a good day. A friend of mine >70 now says that every day is a gift.

Both are true at all ages. They just mean more as time goes on. 🙂

    Blessings,
    Bob

    Happy Birthday!

I know you have no idea who I am, but don’t worry, dh and I lean in favor of you “FV” guys. We’ve been watching Doug Wilson since 2000 and have been spiritually strengthened by his preaching. We’ve been Reformed since 96 and in our eagerness to find consistency in Reformed teaching, we found him. Need I say more?

Anyway, though I’ve heard your name before, I’ve only been watching your blog since your “spirited exchange” with Alan Strange on Pastor Wilson’s blog a few months ago. I must say that your passion on the matter certainly came through in your comments.

I turned 41 just yesterday and I must say that I tend to be passionate to the point of being obnoxious (which is one reason I try to limit my public exposure).

Well, I hope your day has been/is pleasing and glorifying to the Lord!

Valerie, welcome to Mark’s blog, where all the wonderful people hang out! I’ll have to take you at your word that you’re obnoxious (although you could have fooled me) but your kids are cute even when they’re feeling under the weather. I hope they are well on their way to recovery by now!

Thank you very much, Christopher. We’ve had quite the time of it lately, but things are finally improving. I can be quite opinionated, though it’s a little easier to keep it under control in writing – especially when I triple guess everything. Even then I don’t always say things so well (even if it’s corny, such as my “must say” over-usage above). Verbally I can really get myself in trouble, things tend to tumble out too quickly. I wanted to compliment you on the excellent job you have done on many occasions stating and defending your position on Wilson’s blog.

Jennifer, I hope you don’t mind me taking the opportunity to slip out of the shadows, if just for a moment. It seemed like a good chance to say hi. The issues being confronted are very important to our family, I just had the urge to let y’all know we are out here.

    Grace and Peace.
