This really makes me queasy. Until this whole anti-Auburn-Avenue movement, I thought the only major problem in the PCA was the number of churches which use the “mindless evangelical mantra” style of worship music. After my years of attending here at Faith Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, I had almost began to be excited about the whole denomination. Except for my church and if anything happens to it, in another ten to twenty years I would have to move on.

I’m not sure that I understand why this is lawless. If the BCO permits it, then it is lawful.

While I’m not a strict subscription guy, I see Wilkins’ views as lying well beyond the pale of historic Presbyterianism. His views are better characterized as a kind of neo-theonomy.

I just think you guys would be a better fit within the Doug Phillips or Doug Wilson crowd.

The BCO doesn’t. Presbyters who could have pressed charges and followed process instead filed a complaint against Presbytery for not finding a presumption of guilt in Wilson–complained in fact against themselves since you’re supposed to press charges and try a man in his presbytery, not jump over presbytery so that a national judiciary can take over.

It is evil and lawless, and if it was proper procedure it would only give the SJC the status of the Sanhedran at the climax of the Gospel stories.

There is nothing in Steve that is remotely beyond the pale. Please go make your accusations in the comments of Greenbagginses or other blogs that countenance falsehoods.

I just love it when people say “you FV types would be happier elsewhere.” I don’t know what is more offensive – the fact that this advice is so patronizing, or the fact that it is so dishonest. How in the world can you presume what sort of ecclesiastical fellowship would make another man happy? The fact that FV men are staying in the PCA would seem to immediately disprove the assertion. What this advice really means, when translated, is “I think I would be happier if you were to go elsewhere.” Here’s some advice – for Bobby or anyone who is likeminded – at least have the stones to say what you really think.
