I wonder how much of this is an original thought and how much is seeing that people still take Ron Paul seriously when he’s been saying this for years.

You jump in the water first and if the sharks don’t get ya, I’ll join in. Speculation of course.

Well, I don’t see anyone else doing that, so I think it speaks well of Fred that he is willing to do so.

But I doubt Fred is saying anything he hasn’t said and felt passionate about before.

I hear ya. I’m just being my cynical self when it comes to the entire Republican party now a days. So I admit that I’m strongly biased for Ron Paul and hope that even his inclusion in the race and exposure to him will get people thinking and talking.

Actually, Fred didn’t say anything strong at all. It sounds like he’s saying something akin to “the end of civilization as we know it,” (yay!) but in fact he could “dissolve” the IRS by transforming it into an IRS as we don’t know it. And that would not necessarily be better than the IRS we currently have. Although sometimes one thinks it could hardly be any worse . . . Unless the larceny in people’s hearts is repented of, we will always have tax tyranny in some form or another.

Bill Clinton ended welfare as we know it, too.

That said, while I don’t blame those who succumb to cynicism, I’m not ready to give in yet. Hoping for the best is still free as long as you don’t get taken in.
