Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I think that Joel’s points of critique are well worth considering. I myself am particularly interested in further the discussion regarding an overly simple distinction between form and content. I tend to agree with a good deal of what Joel says on this point and yet I am not sure whether this issue would make or break Muller’s thesis. It is definitely though an area that needs more work. I highly respect Joel’s work and he and I have corresponded via email on various topics, so hopefully we can dialogue more on this issue in the near future.
