This is the best presentation that Steve has made available all in one place. I was able to be a fly on the wall at the actual exam, and I can say that the presbytery did a great job at conducting the whole matter. Nearly every presbyter made himself involved in some way, especially with their own questions after the “official questions” were asked.
If I’m reading your comment correctly, it appears the “oral exam” has already taken place? If so, what was the ultimate result?
And for Mark,
Thanks so much for posting this link. After reading Steve’s answers, I still don’t get what all the fuss is about. He clearly affirms our denomination’s Standard’s (are people just assuming he’s lying?). All he is doing is asking some difficult questions that our Confession and Catechisms don’t address. What’s so wrong with that?
It seems that the PCA thought police come after unless you believe that the Westminister Assembly answered every possible biblical/theological question for all time.
Yeah this paper was given out to everyone before the oral exam took place. The presbytery is going to write up a report based on this written paper and the answers given at the meeting. They will vote on it in January and send something back to the SJC. So there hasn’t been any official “result” yet.
That’s very thourough!
