  1. a disciple

After reading the reviews of this book on Amazon’s site I was reminded of my own struggles to maintain my own assurance while also embracing the fact of my ongoing struggle with sin. This was accute for me since for years while a dispensationalist I had to formally ignore the law although I could not ignore my desire to keep it. The word unconditional is used in that tradition as a catch all for God’s grace. But for me it only clouded the issue. I knew deep down that my ongoing life had to include my effort to “be like Jesus” while also regularly practicing repentence for my lack of zeal to “be like Jesus”. I suppose the circle that I keep here in Norman has somewhat insulated me from those in my denomiation (PCA) who are, in some ways, have more in common with my Bible Church past than my Reformed present. It makes me sad.

On another note, can you recommend a Commentary/Book on Matthew?
