Here’s Radar O’Reilly’s post on the switch from Mac to Ubuntu. The comments are interesting and sometimes funny. My favorite:
Apple, with the iPod and, lately, the MacBook, has become one of the popular kids.
And Cory Doctorow and Mark Pilgrim have gone off in search of the chain-smoking goth click.
I found this through Slashdot which mentions “nerds switching from Mack” in the headline. That prompted the first comment to be, “Mac nerds? Are they the same sort of people as Windows hackers and Linux gamers?” Maybe I’m turning into a nerd. I thought that was really funny.
Actually, I once was a nerd, as Chris will tell you. But back when I went to high school, a nerd didn’t have to have any specialized skills. Computers have bumped me out of my social category.
Yes, Mark was a nerd 🙂
Mark,
I found this browser and have been using it as my main web search app. Much sleeker and faster than Safari. I hope you like it:

If you already know about it or use it, my apologies.
Cory
I’ve been using Ubuntu for over a year now. It rocks.
