I’ve reviewed Dark Angel before. It is a post-apocalyptic scifi TV show. Today I am reminded of it. Why?

This is a screen cap from the pilot show. It shows a hoverdrone patrolling the Seattle streets. The scene is obviously meant to show that Seattle has become a police state. The idea was that, because the world had been devastated by a nuclear pulse causing a depression, the people had allowed themselves to be constantly watched and guarded.

Well, we are still ahead of the date of the pilot episode, and it is already happening.

Of course, I think it is great if these can be used in place of helicopters to search for lost children. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the technology. But I hope they never become constant patrols.
