    FWIW, I think that words such as ‘f@ggot’ should have no place in a Christian vocabulary. Such terms are hateful and alienate people that we should be treating with love. Speaking boldly against sin is important, but this duty provides no justification for the use of language that is crafted to be offensive (and is not merely offensive because it is truthful).

    I think that the mayor is absolutely right to expect the pastor to publicly apologize.

    Well, I agree, but I think he expects more significance to the apology than the sin you mention.

    This also demonstrates how anger can cost you. He cannot be a martyr now.
