Sorry I might be a bit dim, but I just wondered what you meant by ‘special pleading’. Would you mind expanding a little?
David, “special pleading” refers to a use of Scripture to support a point that does not use the exegetical rules one normally observes to determine the meaning of the text.
I think I understand. I have obviously not had a proper education. Prompted by your comment I had a look over at Wikipedia which gave me a bit more info including a few examples. I should have thought of that before quizing you.
