OK, cybertechies. I’m running Windows xp home edition on a generously-donated PC. I downloaded Starsiege Tribes 1.8. I also downloaded an upgrade to make it 1.11. Every time I try to open the upgrade, however, I get the following message:
C:WINDOWS2SYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose ‘Close’ to terminate the application.
This message appears in a window entitled, “16 bit Windows Subsystem.” My options are either [Close] or [Ignore], both of which end up leaving me with an unopened/uninstalled upgrade.
Any ideas?
Looks like you may have some damaged system files.
