A chiasm in seven books?

Book six of Harry Potter had so much that tied to book two, both in parallel events and in direct references. I’m frankly ready to go get books 3 and 5 from the library and do a side by side comparison. If I’m on to something, then book seven will have to end at a showdown at the Dursleys in which Harry interposes his own body and life between them and Voldemort.

I didn’t mind the “Peter Parker” ending with Ginnie (at least it stops the snogging until they’re closer to marriage and can do something about it), but it was entirely inconsistent with his willingness to bring Ron and Hermione with him. Ginnie’s earned a place with the three.

Also, Phlegm’s willingness to marry Bill was quite amazing. I was choking up reading it to the boys. For that and many other reasons.

But I really think it was inconsistent that the phoenix didn’t come and heal him. I expected him to.
