A thoughtful corrective to some of John Piper’s statements

I’m not sure about some of the details, but I certainly found this reply quite helpful as a whole.

I, quite frankly, haven’t got the distance yet to do this sort of writing (much less do I have time). As far as I can tell, Piper seems to want to augment what is lacking in his logic by threatening the reader with a load of accusations if he does not submit. Agree with me or you don’t care about peoples’ souls. I’m not saying that there isn’t a great deal worth reading and talking about in Piper’s recent book. Nor am I denying that he is probably one of the best critics of the type (though that is actually pretty sad). But, at this point, I am sorely disappointed he didn’t do a better job, and that disappointment still overwhelms me.

For what it is worth, here is my take on the righteousness of God (scroll down to the bottom post to find the start) and 1 Cor. 5.21.
