What’s new in the New Perspective on Paul and how can you claim to still be traditional while substantially agreeing with it?

This question gets asked a lot (rhetorically). My post below helps demonstrate the answer. New views of how Paul’s arguments work are needed in order to properly reach traditional conclusions. The old understanding of the arguments, if taken seriously, would undermine orthodoxy. We are no longer in a time when we can ignore the faulty logic, so it is important to get Paul right so that orthodoxy is argued from Scripture and not from tradition.
