The verdict on my post late last evening: TTG

Totally Too Grumpy

I’ll try to find time to edit my post on curses and the New Covenant some time (I’m sincere, but I can’t guarrantee what will happen).

For the record, I consider curses to be an accident rather than the essence of God’s covenants both before and after the Fall and before and after Christ.

Also, when Paul tells children to obey their parents in order to live long on the land, he is not asking them to meet some sort of lesser standard than the righteousness of God in order to attain collective and or earthly level of blessing. He is exhorting them to live by faith. Just like in the OT.

Yes. If children can’t (won’t) obey their parents (in the Lord) as the quintessential representatives of godly authority in their lives—even though the are imperfect, just as the children—then surely they will not grow up obeying their supreme Authority! All is by faith.
