We taped it and watched it last night. Janelle’s first response when it ended was, “There’s no monsters. I want monsters.”
Perhaps it will grow on me, I don’t know. I thought it was OK, not quite Buffy and Angel material though. It didn’t help that right after watching it, we caught an episode of Angel (“Untouched” from season 2). Not a fair comparison.
So get season 3 of Buffy already! (Then you can choose to either jump to season 4 or season 1 of Angel…)
Also, get season one of VM if you want to know what I’m hoping will continue in season 3. In some ways this is much more of a clean slate new beginning. Last Season was still High School with a lot more obvious overlapping complications…
Actually, we’ve watched all of Buffy through season four and we’re currently watching Angel (season 2). We signed on to Blockbuster.com a couple of months ago. I like it. For $6 bucks a month we get two online rentals and two instore coupons for a free rental. That’s hard to beat since that’s about as much DVD time as we can afford. (Frack, sorry for turning this into a cheesy add for Blockbuster.)
Just got finished watching it, and I totally agree. I sort of like the new credits (the old ones fit high school, but not so much college), but the new mix of the song? Utter crap.
What did you think of the rest of the episode? Personally, it wasn’t quite as strong as I’d hoped. But the transition from high school to college is difficult in TV shows, so I’m giving it time.
Wayne – Don’t give up on Veronica after this ep. Get S1.
And you can listen to the full UNREMIXED version of the VM theme song in the music player on my site, you haven’t heard it. So much better than the new version…Rob Thomas usually has much better musical taste than to do that to a song.

Oh, and find somewhere online to pirate the original theme song!

That should be “IF you haven’t heard it.” Me=sleep=now.
