Anyone who talks nostalgically about the past and about the evils of modernism has never used a `flush free’ restroom in the far east of Turkey or listened to Paint it Black on an old vinyl LP.
The whole post on “selling out” is great. Though I would have appreciated it more if he had used a real rock group for his example.
The Stones were apparently a real rock group before we were born. I agree with him about the Brian Jones period: after that it all went downhill because he was the soul of the band.
High Tide and Green Grass is one of the best rock albums ever. IMHO it rivals Exile on Main St.
