    Hi Mark,

I don’t understand what you’re saying with this post’s title and the quote. Didn’t God say this to Isaac when he came to Gerar? Could your explain more?

    Blessings,

    What he said was:

“I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

Oops! I was so caught up comparing the first part of the statements that I missed the difference in the last part. That’s a fascinating comparison/contrast to make. Thanks.

So I guess “Abraham believed God and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” (Gen. 15:6) and yet “Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (Gen. 26:5) just goes to show (exactly as James 2:20-26 says) we are justified by “A Faith That Is Never Alone”. 😉 I look forward to reading the book.

    Blessings in Christ,
