I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
O LORD of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!

Are we supposed to believe that “those who walk uprightly” are a different group (or a merely hypothetical group) that is different from the group that contains “the one who trusts in” God and Jesus?

On the other hand, there is a contrast between those who are mere doorkeepers in the kingdom and those who have their living in wicked homes.  To anyone denied position in a certain churches for his faithfulness, be thankful that you aren’t welcome there.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
