//But in a move designed to avoid highway gridlock as the storm closed in, most of the City of Houston’s 2 million residents hunkered down and were ordered not to leave. //
Can they do that? If government ordered me to stay I’d take that as a sure sign that it’s time to go.
There was leaking in the basement, but it drained pretty well. We also had a leak in our bedroom. This is a leak we have yet to have examined by a repair person. It is somehow unrelated to our roof. Anyway, based on the water we caught in the bucket under that leak, I would guess we got close to 5 inches here over the period of 3 hours or less. Several people from church had serious water damage in their basements. I stayed home from church with Charis today who has been fighting some little virus, and Mark and Evangeline saw a car submerged in water that overran the creek bed near Grant’s Farm. The fire department was there recovering the car.

Mark, it looks like you got hit harder in St. Louis than we did in the Dallas area. Is your house dry?
