Music Monday: Michelle Branch, “Goodbye to You”

I can’t find this acoustic version anywhere but on 6×8 of Buffy. So this is for the music, not the show.

One of the best uses of music on any series ever. Actually, BtVS would probably get most of my top ten best uses of music on any series ever. Ah, well. I could’ve sworn I had an MP3 of the acoustic version somewhere, but I can’t seem to locate it. If I find it, I’ll send it to you.

I’m glad you said (wrote) that Jandy, because I am realizing that simply listing the recent music I’ve liked could be taken as nothing more than an exercise in Buffy-fanboyism.

But that’s not it. The music was really well selected. I would have never heard that version of “Wild Horses” without the prom episode, for example.

It’s really not fair because I thought the use of Aimee Mann’s “Pavlov’s Bell” was stupendous, but I really knew and like Mann apart from Buffy (because of Magnolia, of course).

    Oh well.

I don’t think the show used it as well, but I’ve also been introduce to a lot of music through season one of Veronica Mars (all stuck on my dead iMac now).

Yeah. I think you’ll find that season seven soon gets rather mediocre. But that episode and several preceding were great.

“I hate doing vampire towns” (or something close) was an awesome quip.
