For the Beauty of the Earth

This is the view from the back yard of the home we have been staying in for the past 4 days.

The weather since leaving Rapid City, SD, last Thursday morning has been anything but “cold and miserable.”  We have enjoyed cool sunny days with temps in the 50s – 60s and evenings with temps in the 40s – 50s.  The kids played outside more in 4 days than they have in the past several months.  We have also enjoyed great hospitality from new friends in Montana.  It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  I am grateful for the opportunity to see such grandeur.

Here’s one more photo, just for fun.  This one is from a rest-stop on our drive out.

  1. Beautiful! I LOVE the mountains. I have a webcam of Grand Lake, CO at my blog, just so I can peek at the peaks from time to time.

Hope you have a safe trip.

  2. oh, that is breathtakingly beautiful – wow! thanks for sharing, we are thankful with you that you have been amongst such loveliness. praying for a safe trip home.

  3. Yes, I agree with all the other comments! Also, I just checked the new flikr photos and saw Nevin with his new glasses for the first time — they look good. Wish we could have joined you in roasting hot-dogs around the campfire in such a beautiful setting. We too will be praying for your safe trip and beyond.

  4. Glad you all liked the photos. I didn’t take nearly enough!

We did have a great visit. Now we are in a motel in SD on our way back. Nevin was sick a good part of our drive today, and he threw up once. Ah, traveling with children is such fun!!! We were concerned he might be more than just carsick, but since being at the motel, he seems fine. So we are praying that a little dramamine will help him tomorrow and that there will be no more throwing up by anyone.

  5. Hi Jennifer,

I’m on your blog. Aren’t you proud of me? Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them.

    Pam

  6. Hey Pam,

Yes. I am proud of you. Does mean you have dsl now? Or are you just using your precious dial-up time to visit my blog?

Either way, thanks for stopping by.

  7. The official word is . . .

Mark spoke with a couple of the Montana folk last night, and they mutually agreed that he is not the person to plant a church there (as opposed to pastor an established one). This confirms some things we were beginning to think, and we’re somewhat relieved to have our lives simplified.

Please continue to pray for the right job to come about soon. We’re fine with staying in STL, but Mark needs to have work.
